eInvoicing Summit 2024: A resounding success for TRAFFIQX® – and German eInvoicing!
The 2024 E-Invoicing Summit (ERGI24) in Berlin was the undisputed highlight of the year for the German eInvoicing industry—which is no surprise, given that this annual conference, which has been held for over a decade, is the leading event for the eInvoicing industry in Europe’s largest economy.
On June 10 and 11, well over 300 experts gathered for the first time to discuss the latest developments and challenges. After all, there was (and still is) much to discuss, debate, and clarify before the gradual introduction of mandatory electronic invoicing for B2B transactions in Germany begins on January 1, 2025.
Why is this important?
Because it affects almost all German businesses!
The e-invoicing requirement applies to (almost) all businesses, self-employed individuals, and government agencies based in Germany that issue invoices to other businesses. According to current estimates, that amounts to just under 3.5 million entities in Germany.
The TRAFFIQX® Experts: Right in the thick of things, as always
TRAFFIQX® not only had its own booth but also hosted one of the most popular “hands-on” sessions, led by Dieter Keller and Jürgen Grabert. Interested members learned how to successfully navigate the phased introduction of mandatory eInvoicing for B2B transactions starting January 1, 2025. Because with the right e-service provider, such as one of the six TRAFFIQX® providers, companies can do more than just ensure their readiness to receive e-invoices. They also have the opportunity to seamlessly tackle the legally compliant issuance and transmission of eInvoicing, which is already scheduled for 2028.
Key Insights from ERGI24
The summit kicked off with a networking breakfast, followed by an inspiring keynote that prepared members for the challenges ahead. The various panels covered topics such as artificial intelligence, current market studies, and the legal framework for eInvoicing.
TRAFFIQX® presents concrete solutions for the future
Jürgen Grabert and Dieter Keller moderated the TRAFFIQX® session, which presented concrete solutions for the phased introduction of mandatory eInvoicing for B2B transactions starting January 1, 2025. Members gained valuable insights into how they can ensure readiness to receive eInvoices and smoothly implement the BMF requirements by 2028.
The two eInvoicing experts did not dwell on dry theory. Instead, they outlined a clear implementation plan for how to make the eInvoicing requirement a reality by the deadline (and beyond).
The two experienced digitalization professionals recommended that companies first and foremost analyze their processes and systems, clarify business partner relationships, and select suitable partners for eInvoicing. They highlighted the subsequent adaptation of existing systems, continuous testing, and employee training as crucial steps.
They repeatedly emphasized how important it is to foster employee acceptance and to use regular feedback to optimize the process. After all, a clear commitment to eInvoicing and taking the emotional aspect into account increase the likelihood of success in the change process.
The presentation made it clear that eInvoicing offers numerous long-term benefits. Ultimately, companies benefit from increased efficiency, sustainability, and improved future viability.
Additional highlights of ERGI24
