75. Multiplier on board: TRAFFIQX® prepares small and medium-sized enterprises for mandatory e-invoicing

Germany's largest eInvoicing network has reached an important milestone: the growing number of multipliers shows that electronic invoicing has finally arrived in the B2B SME sector – a development that is also urgently needed. This is because the time remaining until the final legal end of PDF and paper invoices is gradually running out.

Since January 1, 2025, companies in Germany have been required to receive electronic invoices in a format that complies with EN 16931 (e.g., XRechnung or ZUGFeRD). From 2027, companies with an annual turnover of more than €800,000 will also be required to send their invoices electronically – from 2028, this will apply to all B2B transactions in Germany, with a few exceptions such as tickets or small amounts.

At the same time, the EU has paved the way for a Europe-wide real-time reporting system for sales tax data from 2030 with the ViDA initiative. One thing is clear: an email inbox is not sufficient for these requirements – it offers neither the necessary security nor the technical basis for automated processes.

Rising demand necessitates additional multipliers

In this environment, the TRAFFIQX® network is growing rapidly. With the 75th multiplier, another strategic partner is now on board to bring TRAFFIQX® provider services to the market, connect new participants, and provide onboarding and first-level support.

"The fact that we are welcoming the 75th multiplier in the TRAFFIQX® network today clearly shows that e-invoicing has arrived in the SME sector – and it is no longer a topic for the future, but a reality. Anyone who still relies on transitional solutions such as email will run into an expensive dead end by 2027 at the latest," warns Dieter Keller, co-founder of the TRAFFIQX® network.

TRAFFIQX® also offers software providers a simple way to integrate eInvoicing functions directly into existing applications with the Invoice API – quickly, cost-effectively, and in compliance with legal requirements. “Our API ensures that companies can exchange their invoices easily and in a future-proof manner – without additional development effort,” emphasizes Uwe Gibis, interoperability expert in the TRAFFIQX® network.

What exactly does a multiplier do – and how do you become one?

A TRAFFIQX® multiplier is a strategic partner of the network, such as an IT service provider, software company, or industry association. Its tasks:

  • Marketing TRAFFIQX® services within its own customer base,
  • Onboarding new participants and activating them in the network,
  • Basic support and optional 1st-level support for assigned customers.

In return, multipliers benefit from:

  • Access to over 100,000 registered companies in the TRAFFIQX® network,
  • Technical support from providers (e.g., via API),
  • Joint marketing activities, and the brand strength of TRAFFIQX® and its partners.

Interested software providers, service providers, or associations can start as multipliers via a cooperation agreement and thus combine their own services with the established TRAFFIQX® platform—for scalable growth and real added value for their customers.
