The Routing ID (Leitweg-ID) serves as a unique identifier for the technical addressing of electronic invoices, ensuring that they are correctly received and processed within the recipient’s systems.

Without a Routing ID, electronic invoices cannot be properly delivered to authorities and institutions within the German federal administration.
