AS4-Protokoll

The AS4 protocol is an open standard for the secure and payload-agnostic transmission of business documents via web services using SOAP and HTTP, with WS-Security for XML encryption and digital signatures.

Based on the OASIS ebMS 3.0 profile, AS4 was established as an OASIS standard in 2013 and as an ISO standard in 2020.

Within the Peppol eDelivery infrastructure, AS4 has been the mandatory transport protocol between access points since February 2020. It includes encryption, digital signatures, and delivery receipts to ensure data protection, integrity, and traceability.
